I just paid off both USAA cards not realizing I was about to get huge rewards credits on both cards (today!). Instead of using my paycheck to payoff Macys and the USAA credits sitting there until I use them, I am trying to think creatively how to use this to payoff Macys. Can I bal transfer from USAA online to pay a store card or use a convenience checks? Dep the conv check into my checking account, is this the best way? I'm expecting a 3% fee regardless, right?

Balance transfer a portion of Macy's to each of your usaa cards and the credits will be used for you. You are going to incurr the 3% bt fee, but that is just the cost of using the rewards. If you call them, they may transfer the credit into your checking acct. I have a credit balance on my platinum card right now too for the same reason.
Yes, kRoberts67 you can balance transfer to USAA. I'm pretty sure your USAA have a low apr. Try to get a USAA cli if possible; the rep told me that an account is eleigble for once every year. After I pay off my USAA I will attempt to get a cli.

Thanks SWAPMEET, just did it effortlessly! It was only a $20 fee, I consider it free money as I didnt expect it! I didnt realize it would work online for a store card acct#.
Your account is eligible for a cli at USAA every six months. And, I am glad to see that you got it taken care of! Good job.
