Oh hey -- did you have a chance to call the bureaus to request EEs today?
Agreed - GW letters are an effort of sheer will. Bludgeon them enough to where the person says "Jeez, AGAIN?? I'm gonna delete this to get this person off my back before I need a restraining order!" It's a contact sport for sure. The Saturation thread by BrutalBodyShots (anyone seen him around lately btw?) is excellent.
I'm also happy to look over the GW letters if you'd like. And I'm glad the info on the strings turned up - I thought I had also seen something to that effect.

Absolutely - GW letters are not for the faint of heart.
And I haven't seen BBS in at least 3 months (maybe longer...) hope all is OK with him and he's just on a 'break'...

@Anonymous wrote:Gotcha!! I'll start by sending out the GW letters and hopefully they'll be successful. Is it okay if you and @ImTheDevil help me with the letters? Of course, I'll put all the work in and write up the letter — but if both of you or even one of you would give me your feedback and tell me what you think when it's done and ready to be mailed? Worst comes to worst and the GW letters aren't successful, I'll come back and get your advice on what you think my next course of action should be.

Yes, I'll be happy to look them over before you send them out. But there's no such thing as Goodwill failures until you literally reach the point of the negative dropping off on its own at it's 7 year mark. Goodwills don't usually (almost never) work after the first letter sent.... it often takes multiple letters and multiple rounds of sending letters over a period of time before you finally get what you want -- the key is not to give up.
Awww, yay!! I guess I meant like after 6 mon-1 year of denials and not getting anywhere, I figured that people would move on and try to rebuild their score some other way if they're not able to get the lates removed.
Eh... depends on the person and how bad they want it gone. I had a paid charge-off on my reports and wanted it gone (my last derog)-- it took me a year and 6 months of letters (and nasty denial responses) before I was successful. Had I given up after I hit the one year mark... that charge-off would stll be there... ijs.
You're absouletely right!! I'm definitely not going to give up either. I read about the OP's story on the Saturation Thread and knowing that you got a good response as well makes me feel hopeful!
No, I didn't get to call today. I had some things to take care of when I got home. I'm planning on calling them tomorrow after work.

Yeah, I know how it is -- time just escapes you... let us know how it goes when you do get around to it...

I understand. That's a good way to put it though @ImTheDevil. I loved the thread, such a good read...lol. And thanks for helping with the GW letters. I really appreciate you and thornback helping me.
I'll absolutely let you know how it goes! I'm kind of anxious about it, not going to lie. But I've been reading alot about EE's and how a lot of people have had success with them.

Don’t sweat it. TU is painless, and EX has been as well in my experience. A couple people reported having issues with them but the overall seems to be overwhelmingly positive. It’s unnerving calling a bureau the first time but remember, the people you talk to are regular people like any of us, doing a job, and seem to be genuinely trying to help. I’ve had nothing but good experiences doing it and hope you do too
That definitely makes me feel a lot better. I'll let you and thornback know how it goes! I can't thank the 2 of you enough for your generosity and help.
