AA award booking quick question

I have read the rules/fee’s according to searches and post. In regards to a AA award flight on one world . From JFK-DFW-NRT-DLC ( jfk -dfw is on AA) and the rest on JAL. Question is if I change routing let’s say from JFK-NRT-DLC( all JAL) it is okay right because origin/destination is still the same . Will there be any other fee besides , a close in fee $75 and a difference in miles /taxes if I upgrade to a higher class.

Thank you.

Re: AA award booking quick question

No fee since the origin and destination remain the same and all carriers remain within oneworld.

You also would not pay the close in booking fee unless you change it to a travel date that is within 21 days of the original ticketing date (of the original routing).

Re: AA award booking quick question

I don’t think so, as long as it stays within OW you should be good.

Not 100% sure but that’s my take on it
