I just had her do the shopping cart trick and she was approved again with 500 dollar limit so i am wondering how that will affect her aaoa? Will it be two different accounts or will it be back dated to when she first opened the card? Thanks

Almost assuredly will be a new account and affect AAoA the same way any other new tradeline will.

+1. Almost all creditors will create a new account ~ very few ( if any ) will re~open a previously closed account.

Re: AAOA- closed card then re-opened

Not to hijack the thread but I have a question that's kinda close to the topic. My mom has a jcpenny store or credit card that she's had for 7+ years and she had it closed and then probably about 3 or so years she had it reopened. If it was reopened does it keep the previous history or is it treated as a new account and lose the previous history?

I hope I made sense

In virtually all cases it's two seperate tradelines:

  • The old one with it's own history
  • The new one with it's own history

I'm struggling to think of any lender which does it differently under 99% of the circumstances.
