AF waiver (mil) for the new Mastercard Black Card (Barclays)?

I am a career Marine who has thoroughly enjoyed AMEX waiving their annual fees, including on my Platinum.

Barclays waives fees on their other cards, but I haven't been able to find out if they do the same for the new MC "Black Card." The benefits aren't nearly as good as the AMEX and Citi cards I use for travel, but if the price was right (free, lol) I could add it to my wallet and not feel too guilty about it.

Does anyone know the answer?

I have read on other blogs that they do waive the AFs for all the cards in their Luxury Card line.

Thanks!

I did find the answer on reddit (probably the same place you saw it):

This is a good deal, if only for active duty military, lol. I can't see why anyone would get it otherwise, as my Plt and CP have basically all of the same features and much more. I did get accepted for the Black Card instantly; as ostentatious as it is I couldn't bring myself to get the "gold card" that was even more rediculous.

Yes they waive for AD Military...I got the gold card and I don't care what anyone thinks...free $1200 is what I think ($1000 + $200)....they also give 0% APR at all times...

Why not just get the gold since they waive the AF?  It has better benefits, so it seems like a no brainer.

A. I will only use the card for the benefits; my main card is AMEX Starwood so after the introductory points are added there is little to gain from having the gold; and B. I knew the Black would be an instant approval and the Gold will automatically be reviewed (and I'm impatient).
