Re: AMEX BCE...

The maxed citi card is a red flag, you should pay it down before applying, for the best chance of getting what you want.

Also, I agree with bs6054, you could be at 10k in less than a year, so why are you so stuck on at least a 3.5k limit.

I see a lot of approvals for 2k. I also see a lot of denials for high utilization...its a balancing act for sure!

Re: AMEX BCE...

Doesn't matter if its a low cl. Soft pull to triple your cl in 61 days, then once again every 6 months. I'm not sweating 1k at approval. Why ??? It'll become 3k in 61 days, then 9k in 6 months. Point is once your in, you'll get past 10k eventually.

And what is the alternative?  Asking for CLI's on existing cards.

Even if the 61 day doesn't get you 10K, another after 6 more months should, so why not apply and see what you get?

Also, why is 10K so critical?  Is this for a definite need or for self-image!

I guess I could do that too. And me having 10k isn't for self-image...its a goal of mine. Kinda like weight...you wanna be a certain weight loss goal, and you do whatever you can to reach that. Similar thing here. I can care less about what others think. I just have it as a goal that i'm trying to reach. I feel like it would help me get to my Fico score goal which is above 750

right...which is why I decided to ask other for feedback to see if anybody had similar profiles and what their results were. I know its going to be a case by case basis, but at least it gives me an idea.

Re: AMEX BCE...

I think you should go for it.
I had a nearly maxxed out (4500/5000)Freedom and nearly maxed out Trav Amex(5000/6500)

And I got a $3.5k lim and the 3xcli!
Maybe pay Citi below $4k. If you have $400-500 to pay it down...

Im thinking you have an 80% shot! If denied, it's a sp SINCE you have Amex Green :-)

Re: AMEX BCE...

it's not as difficult as you think. I got my AMX costco w/ CL of 2k. increased to 6k in 2 month and 18k in 8 month. As long as you manage ur cc properly, AMX is pretty generous toward granting cl
