unrelated to OP, but I don't think Amex can discriminate like this.

Does this mean Hugh Hefner or anyone who own stocks in Playboy don't qualify? What about farmers? What about General Mills executives or any executives in farming industries? Or what about certain jobs that are more racially segregated?

I'm not sure how you associate the example of a "porno tycoon" to owning stock in Playboy, farmers and General Mills.  I'm sure owning stock in Hustler, Playboy, General Foods and Cargill are fine; however, owning stocks (if they existed) in an offshore child porno site may not.

As it is, Amex doesn't allow its cards to be used on porn sites.  This card has unpublished criteria and so long as their criteria isn't based on race, sexual orientation and religion, I'd imagine they can use whatever factors they deem fitting.

One of the requirements is that you have to be an AMEX customer for at least one year, this pretty much rules your friend out...  I have have to see this to believe it.

To Open:

I think I misunderstood your point then. I was assuming you wasn't talking about what you just did, since it was kinda obvious. For example a drug cartel boss wouldn't put his annual income and job info on a credit card app :/

My bad for misunderstanding.

Re: AMEX BLACK CARD(Centurion) not as rare as said to be.

I have worked with some very wealthy people.

The vibe I get from them is, that if they are the type of clientele who can easily get the Centurion card, they are not likely to be the same ones who obsess about getting one.

It's like the old saying: "When you've truly arrived - you wont need to announce it".

+1. Given that an applicant's file will be manually reviewed before an invitation is extended, numerous factors are considered. I'm certain that in addition to assets and income, source of wealth and profession (and perhaps fame/noteriety) are considered as well.
