AMEX Backdating Question

I have had a corporate AMEX charge card since 2010. A few months ago I applied for and received the AMEX PRG, it currently lists my "Member Since" date as 2013. If I call into customer service will they backdate this card to the corporate open date?

Re: AMEX Backdating Question

If the corp AMEX card is in your name (you are responsible for the debt), they should.

Re: AMEX Backdating Question

What does it say when you log in?  Often, the first new card for old member gets dated wrong, but online will let you know what AMEX really thinks your member date is.   If it is right online, then up to you whether or not you want new card with correct member date on it.

However it is showing 2013 member date online, you will need to call in and ask for it to be changed.  If you have old info, that would help.  However, some business/corporate cards do not set member date so rep may tell you that.  However, YMMV if you get nice rep or old card is eligible for setting member dates.

Re: AMEX Backdating Question

I don't manage my Corporate card account at all. So I can't log into it. When I log into my PRG it shows Member Since 2013.

Going to have to all and find the right rep.  Do you have corporate card number?  Keep you conversation short and sweet, and try both rep and card replacement.

Hi this is XYZ.  I just got my new PRG.  It says my member date is 2013.  I am looking at my old Amex and it says 2010.  Can you send me replacement card with 2010 member date please.

They may have to search and you should let them.  If they can't find card, say you can get them number.  If they say it is corporate and cant do it.  Just don't argue and call back and get someone else.

Re: AMEX Backdating Question

Thanks for the advice. The corporate card is still active so I definirely have the number to give them. I will try it when I get home from work today.

Re: AMEX Backdating Question

They matched my Corporate Card date from 2008, when you say you don't manager your corporate card at all, have you tried to add it to your online account? I added both my personal card and my corporate card to my online account and that worked. I am glad it shows 2008 instead of 2013

Re: AMEX Backdating Question

I meant that I currently have no online account access to the corporate card. Once a month the finance dept emails your statement to you and then you reconcile your own expense reports. I do remember having to give them my SSN when they issued me my corporate card.

Re: AMEX Backdating Question

Dont be surprised if you have to call back a few times.  Maybe one call to normal rep.  One call to card replacement.  One call to normal rep...Rinse Repeat
