Re: AMEX Blacklist for Existing Cardholders

In college I went into collections for around $1200 on the Green.  it was paid off in 3 months.

Fast forward about 6 years.  I apply over Christmas at a mall table and got approved for both Green and Skymiles.  Since then, I've upgraded to Amex Gold, Skymiles Platinum, and also have gotten BCE and ED.

That's pretty much the message in the AMEX threads.  Pay it off & get back in.  I don't want a card that bad that I will go back & pay off the large debt I owed.  Paying the debt only makes some sense if the defaulted amount is small - as in your case.
