AMEX Blue Cash Everyday to AMEX Blue Cash Preferred?

I was approved for the Blue Cash Everyday a few days ago but now I'm thinking I want the Blue Cash Preferred instead. In other threads, someone mentioned that you had to wait 13 months to convert BCE to BCP. Would this still be true if I haven't yet received and activated the Blue Cash Everyday yet?

It cant hurt to ask American Express. The 13 month thing is I believe because of the CARD act that prohibits them from raising your AF the first year and I have read some people having success with a PC early.

Welcome to the forum. You can try and tell them you applied for the wrong card -if that was the case. However, due to the Card Act, the lender is restricted no AF to AF within the first 12 mos

Would saying I applied for the wrong card allow me to bypass the Card Act? If they deny a PC, is it possible to apply for BCP and have both BCE and BCP?

No, it won't allow you to bypass the Card Act. If you PC you will lose the sign up bonus
