AMEX Blue Sky- UPDATE!!

I apped for the Blue Sky with no AF.  I got the 14 day message.  There were no new inquiry from AMEX on my EX report yet.  When the new card arrives and it appears on my credit reports showing my 1997 opening date, I'm going to close the Blue Everyday card.    After one year, I'm going to PC back to the Blue Everyday card.

Shouldn't be an issue.  If I understand this correctly, his previous card wasn't backdated and was already reporting.  He contacted them and got it backdated, so now he has a new card that shows his member since date on the card and shows correctly when he logs into his account, but it was already reporting to the CRA with the date he applied instead of the 97 date.  They are telling him they can't change it on his credit report.

For this application, they already have him in the system with a member since date of 97.  It should report fine.  Even if they do **bleep** it up which is unlikely since he is a current account holder with a 97 date, he would be able to correct it before it shows up on his CRA.

Re: AMEX Blue Sky

Thanks.  I did read the story earlier on different threads.  I just also know that things don't happen as they always should and was curious of the "what if" this turned out the same way as Amex #1 is all.

Thanks, Walt_K!  You explained it perfectly!

Re: AMEX Blue Sky

Still no hard pull from AMEX.  Should I call the Executive number to speed up the application process?

No, not calling.  I'm afraid.  So that everything can fall into place, I need to get approved now more than ever for a second card with them.  After this, I'm never apping for a card again. I'm still hoping things turn out in my favor with the Target card.
