AMEX CL reallocation time frame

I had commented on another post regarding this the other day about how the rule was that they required the donor card to be open for 13 months. Well, I was not using my brain properly at the time, because I realized that I myself have moved CL between my own cards two times with the donor being less than a year old. I moved $2,000 from my Delta to my BCP when the Delta was 8 months old, and moved $9,000 from my BCP to my Delta when the BCP was 9 months old. In this post, which is ironically from today, the OP moved CL from a BBC to a BBP. The donor had been open for 45 days, and the recipient for 61 days. This seems to confirm DPs for both personal to personal, and biz to biz are possible far earlier than 13 months. If I were to speculate, I would make the assumption that eligibility begins after the first 30 days. I have not read any DPs of anyone attempting to reallocate CL more than one time within a 30 day window, so until someone posts about it, we can assume the 30 day waiting period between reallocation still rings true. If anyone else has any other relevant DPs regarding AMEX CL reallocation, drop them below! I think sometimes people may miss out on CLI opportunities because they do not realize they can combine limits before requesting, and simply split them back up how they see fit the next month.

Re: AMEX CL reallocation time frame

Yes, I can't recall when AmEx relaxed the reallocation restrictions (as far as the initial timeframes) for newly opened accounts, but I have been able to shift limits around within the ~2 month timeframe on some newly opened revolvers (biz & personal).  That said, biz->biz has always been fine, pers->pers, also ok.

It used to be that the donor card had to be opened > 12 months, but again, I know I was able to shift CLs during 2019.  As far as the frequency, that hasn't changed to my knowledge.  It's still limited to 1 reallocation per 30 days, AFAIK.

Re: AMEX CL reallocation time frame

So I just moved 11k from my 6 week old CM to my BCP! Because I assumed you counldn't move credit between cards within the first year, I didn't think I would be able to get more on my BCP until October. I now plan to attempt a 3x CLI at day 61 for the CM! Will follow up with results on 06/28.

CM SL 20k - Opened on 04/27 (Now 9k CL)

BCP CL 9k - Recieved 3x CLI on 04/15 (Now 20K CL)
