No magic score but I recommend 650 or above, if not closer to 700+

Also, the oft repeated suggestion for AMEX is 12 months of history on another card.

2017-09-09 FICO 08: EQ 677, TU 640, EX 705
2020-02-07 FICO 08: TU 789
2020-02-10 FICO 08: EX 752

With Discover the better you score better your odds but they are such an odd duck that there are people with lower scores, thin files or just out of bk who score really great limits while there are some with well established files and score are lucky to just get in. Just some popcorn for the movie

I had a 688 when I got approved for Discover IT in Dec 2016 $1000, I got American Express Blue 1 month Later $1000
