Looking for some direction here....
I am authorized user on DH AMEX Delta Skymiles but just received a 50,000 mile email offer we could really use for the miles. In addition to the introductory miles offer, I also travel delta a little more than my husband and would like the free baggage when I travel without him. Additionally, the add to my utilization would be nice - my husband's card would still be primary otherwise I feel we'd be competing against each other.
Will the existing card come into play at all? Card opened Dec 2010 - no lates, current util 15%
Will this be a HP?
My overall current util: 55% (still working on that)
Salary: 100k plus
EX score: 704, EQ: 682
Lastly - do you think I have a chance given the facts?

I think you need to work your UTL down a little further first... do you have any current or past AMEX accounts of your own?
I have only had an AMEX corp card years ago and the AMEX with DH back dated to his AMEX corp card of 2007.
My highest card is Chase Freedom (12/12) $581/$6300.
I applied for Amex Hilton Honors when my overall util was hovering around 80% and still got approved for 4500 CL. I had their Zync card for 2 years though.
Thanks - that is why I am wondering if the AU on DH's card would factor in at all....
You have a high income (the same +ve factor that helped me get approval). If you don't have any baddies/ lates on your report then I think you should give it a shot.
Reading this forum also makes one believe that Amex Delta Gold is one of the easiest way in amex's door.
I pulled the trigger online and...........................Approved! Called the back door number to check app status and it is $2k and I will take it for now! Thanks to THIS board I am setting a reminder to CLI in 61 days. Miles, miles, miles!!!
Thank you all who replied to my inquiry AND have shared so much information in general!
Congrats!!!
I would have pulled the trigger as well :-)
You'll be 6000 in 2 months
Congrats again...
