AMEX Pay Over Time Suspended

We upgraded our AMEX charge account from classic gold to the regular gold card and just got our new cards today.  One thing we noticed is POT limit says $35,000 but it's been suspended for years now (probably 10+ years or more).

Would it be worth contacting customer service to see about getting it re-enabled, or would it possibly trigger a hard pull?  Also if a person does get it enabled, how does it report?  Would be nice to have it help with utilization lol.

Congrats on the PC.  There is a team that periodically reviews POT limits and suspensions (probably the same team that reviews NPSL accounts that have been changed to PSL).    You could possibly try unenrolling and re-enrolling if the link is available later; or it could never appear again.  Never an inquiry involved there; Amex soft pulls for your account(s) regularly.

POT limits do not report anywhere but your account page and statements.  While it has revolving terms, it does not change the charge card to a revolving credit product and your credit reports will continue to treat it as such.  Balances report the same as if they were new charges.  You have 1 month terms and your minimum payment shown on credit reports will be the entire current balance on your charge card, regardless of whether that is the minimum amount actually due to Amex or not.

You were the one that got me to upgrade to the better card lol.  One nice side benefit is we went with the "rose gold" version and the new card is a lot heavier and I think is made out of metal!  We got out for dinner with friends that have the same older card like we had - will be nice to put ours down for bragging purposes lol.

I did contact Amex and the CSR said normally once Pay Over Time is suspended it normally never comes back.  She was going to try and put a request in though to see if it possibly could be reinstated (since its been 10+ years since it was suspended).
