AMEX backdating?

I know the backdating that AMEX have helps to increase AAOA, but does it actually report the newly opened CC on the CR as the backdated date or the date it was actually opened?

It will show as your member since year and the month you applied for the new card. Like I applied for a PRG last march and it shows as opened March, 2004.
