@ryanbush wrote:interesting... here is an excert from an email I recieved from AMEX about 10 minutes ago:
"We are pleased to
approve your application for the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit CardSM
from American Express, and we'd like to welcome you to the benefits and
services that come with Cardmembership.
We are expediting the delivery of your Card, and you will receive it in 2 to 3
days. However, you can begin managing your account now by registering for
online access. When you set up your online account, you can customize your
preferences so you'll be ready to view your transaction activity, manage your
rewards and much more once you begin using your Card. If you haven't already
done so, you can go to americanexpress.com/onlineregistration
and register for online access using the Reference Number at the top of this
email. Please note that your Reference Number will only be valid for 15 days."
LOL, I made another post a couple of days ago about a CSR not willing to expedite my SPG (rudely at that). If you don't mind me asking, what limit did they approve you with? I'm trying to figure out if it's directly related to that.

I applied for an SPG on Friday and it was UPS'd overnight and arrived early Monday morning. I didn't ask for an expedite, they just did it.
They have expedited multiple cards for me without me asking:
2 or 3 Zync replacements because they were either lost or the magnetic strip was worn out
PRG when it was new, and PRG for DH when it was new
1 PRG replacement for me (lost card)
1 PRG replacement for DH, magnetic strip worn out, card was breaking in half
Lowes Business Amex (when it was new)
I just requested a replacement for my Delta card on the website and it gave me the option to do it US mail or UPS Next Day Air.
Maybe it's because I have a Platinum Business Card?

I told him they expedited by business card in June and there was no problem. He did say that he did not handle business accounts, they were a separate department.

I've never had a problem getting a personal card expedited, as a matter of fact that have done it every time without me even asking.

+1
Not only have they expedited all of my cards (including new SPG from a couple weeks ago) I received my Hilton Amex the day after I was approved. That kinda freaked me out.
@sccredit wrote:I called it to try to get my BCP expedited for vacation next week, CSR (US based) stated that they are no longer expediting new accounts because of fraud concerns. They will still expedite replacement cards when needed.
Just one CSR's statement, take it for what its worth.
I was told the exact same thing. I was approved for Amex Delta, I remember seeing on here you could have the card expedited. I called and asked to have my card expedited and the rep stated they can't and only expedite replacement cards.
This was about a month and a half ago. Two weeks later, I saw someone on here approved for Amex Delta and was able to get their card expedited. It's a little frustrating.
