AMEX

I believe I understand how this works, but I want to confirm. So if I can get a signer to get an AMEX with me, even if just for a couple years. Anytime in the future when I got my own, it would be backdated to when the signer and I opened the first one right? So my AA would be major boosted.

Re: AMEX

If you are asking if Amex has joint accounts, they do not.

Re: AMEX

Dang, so basically there is no way to early member with AMEX, you simply have to wait until you can get the card of your own ability.

Re: AMEX

OP, I think some of the other posters are interpreting your post incorrectly. If you have someone add you as ACM (no joints with Amex), your member date will be set at whatever year it happens. So, in the future, all your own cards will show open at whatever member date year you are. However any future ACM cards will show actual open date.

So simple answer to your question is yes you can help your future aaoa by getting added as ACM and setting member date year to now. For example, I am going to add my child as soon as he is eligible to be added as ACM to set his member date early and therefore help his aaoa in future.

Re: AMEX

If OP is an ACM her MSD is set but her credit report on any future apps will reflect the date she applied. It does not backdate only for cc you are a primary on.
For instance, I' have a PRG MSD is 05/1985 it reports as such on my CR's.
I'm an ACM on my DHs Delta MSD is 07/1985 it reports as 07/2013 on my CR's.

Re: AMEX

If you can be an ACM on someone's account today it'll set your backdate to 2013, then any future cards YOU get can be backdated to 2013.
