APPROVED FOR CAPITAL ONE!!! YAY

Hi everyone

 I have been trying and trying to rebuild my credit. anyway I applied for a capital one card in may 09 but was denied but here again I took the risk and applied again and was approved for a 300 credit limit for the no hassle rewards master card. my question is would this be the credit steps card I hear people referring to on the forum or is this better or worse. Also I forgot to mention I had a capital one card back in 2002 that was charged off and they guarnished my wages for the money owed, the judgement and the charge off is still on my credit report due to come off next year, so for anyone wondering they do give second chances the answer is yes keep trying.

Congrats Tinky!!!!  I had a paid CO with them years ago & they still would not take me back.

Not sure if that is the steps card.....you can call & ask!

Congrats on your approval!!! You will receive a letter in the mail indicating if it's a credit steps card. I was approved in Oct 09, got a letter saying it was a credit steps card, I've gotten one CLI back in Feb and none since.

Congrats man, C1 is a great cc in my opinion , i was stupid once back in 2006, and had a charge off on this card , believe me , and i only had a 300 CL and let this happen, i didn't pay them for 8 months , how dumb was that? so it ended up as a $608 debt, i called them up paid it in full and then now in 2010 i got approved again,

(i had tryied before, but denied) so after three months of payments made on time they gave me a $200 automatic CLI , so its being like 4 months since and nothing, so i dont know what to think ,sometimes i think i should call, but im gonna wait for them to raise it up by them selfs i dont know whats theh best to do in this case anyway.

For my Macy's Card i had $100 CL initially then i called 3 months after they raised it up to $500(on the spot), then out of no where it went to $2000 , so i dont know how it works,but again man, congrats, take care of your C1.

Congrats on getting the card- i got mine last month and i decided im always going to pay this card in full-- i got the letter 2 weeks ago saying i was enrolled in the credit steps... if you are not sure call the back # and they will let you know.

what was your FICO when you surprisingly got approved? I have 743 and I've been stressing for the last 3 weeks while my application is in 'processing', waiting for anything to happen, good or bad.
