So I got approved for my Blue on 4/4

I received and activated the card on either 4/7 or 4/12 (probably 4/12)

I made the first purchase on 4/13

What day should I request a CLI?

Should I do the full 3x limit?

To be honest, I've never heard of the Amex 60 day CLI deal. I think, that you typically have to wait 6 months.

The first one is 60 days. After that, it is six months since your last request. Don't know exactly which day it tracks from for the first one, i.e., not sure if it is from approval or activation. I'd just wait the few extra days until 60 days from activation, or call Amex and ask them.

per Amex's website on the Contact Us page under Frequently Asked Questions...

We do not increase an account's credit limit during the first 60 days after it has been opened, or for at least 6 months from the last credit limit increase. After that time has passed, if you are still interested in applying for an increased credit limit, please call the number on the back of your Card to speak with one of our customer care professionals.

For me, I tried to get my CLI 60 days from approval, and it said I wasn't eligible. Then I tried 61 days after activation, and it was approved. My original CL was $3600, and I requested $10k, but the system countered with $5700, so I took it. I will say, though, that I had only used the card 2 or 3 times in that 60 days.

So to confirmed, this is an automated process? You just log into your account and hit the LUV button? Sounds easy enough.

I'd play it safe and ask for 1.5x on the 60 day, then look into more on the 6 month point, but that's just me.

I am hearing mixed recommendations.....should I use the card heavy first 2 months, PIF, than ask for a CLI or use it a few times, PIF than ask for a CLI. This is my 1st Amex (SPG) so I want to be sure I get it right. Thanks in advance.....
