Adverse Action triggers

After reading this forum I have been trying to figure out what it is that card holders who suffer AA (CLD etc) have in common. I have been fortunate to not receive any AA from any of my cards. I have a couple of theories about why some suffer AA. I will propose that it could be the category percentages of your purchases. Do CCC prefer a user who uses their card in a more rounded way? I would also propose that they prefer all contact to be online(paying bills etc). One other possibility could be chargebacks. Do any of you who have had adverse actions have any of these factors? It sure would be nice to know what is the common thread so we can avoid that behavior.

Re: Adverse Action triggers

Interesting, but I'm sorry I don't agree.

some of these banks seem to be using a computer to CLD accounts at random almost.

GE has been huge on this, they CLD ebay card that has been open for like 2 years but didn't touch Dillards that has been open for only 6 months.

Ebay practically never gets used.

Dillards gets maxed out every month.

So did they CLD because they felt we didn't need the CL anyway?

I would think they would CLD because they felt you were in to deep and maxing a card out regularly would possibly display that.

Re: Adverse Action triggers

Let me see, causes for AA at the moment:

Phase of the moon

position of Jupiter

month with an r in it.

day with a y in it.....

The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Here is the list so far:

1.Lack of use(CL is stagnant)

2. Maxing out a CL

3. Lack of online contact

4. Chargebacks

5. Use is not well rounded

6. ??

7. ??

Any other ideas out there?

What are the common factors?

You silly. In this economy the banks are just doing CLD randomly you can't really say or prove why or for what reason.

Thanks manyquestions:

Here is the new list:

1. Lack of use(CL is stagnant)

2. Maxing out a CL

3. Lack of online contact

4. Chargebacks

5. Use is not well rounded

6. Who your mortgage holder is.

7. Which stores you shop at, amex's "experience with others that shop where you shop"

8 Which state you live in (the ones with the realestate that has dropped a lot.

9 Balances on other cards and how fast you pay them down.

10 Change in purchasing

11 Number of inq

12 What industry you work in (housing construction, finance)

I think #12 and #8 are probably very very significant factors in AA. I am a teacher and I live in SC with no AA. How about those with AA Where do you live and what do you do?
