Advice on getting approved for citi simplicity

As the title says I am looking for advice on getting approved for the simplicity card mid next year. Every time I have append for citi they have declined me. I am assuming its due to inquires and will therefore wait till next summer to try again. Just looking for where you guys were fico wise and such when you were approved.

What is your income and how new are the cards you have? Any baddies? Citi is also inq sensitive and I only got approved when most of my inq's were over a year old
