Congrats....the auto loan rate isn't bad and the Visa CL will hopefully grow!

Which Visa did you get?  Was is a reward card?  Those tend to have higher APR.

Re: Alliant Credit Union - FICO Survey Results

Well my highest limit card is an Amex at 8K followed by BoA Amex at $2.5K so I guess they give me such a low limit based on the kinds of cards I have which really stinks. I wonder if they give CLI upon activation as I was looking for at least 5K.

jahmal, did you mean to post to this thread...?  The topic on here is info about apping/results from apping with Alliant CU, and your post doesn't seem to relate to that...?

If you posted in error, let us know, and we can move or remove your post.

jahmal was answering the question what OTHER type of cards he had on his CR because he received a lower than expected CL from Alliant, only $2.5k.

Oops - my bad, then. That's what I get for posting before my third cup of tea and for skimming through threads too quickly.

Sorry, jahmal, et al. - carry on.

Re: Alliant Credit Union - FICO Survey Results

Just checked out Alliant's web site & nearly fell over when I saw that they're paying 3% on their savings account. When you consider that most of the high-yield online savings accounts (HSBC, ING, EmigrantDirect) are below 2%, that's remarkable. (GMAC is still paying 2.25% on its Online Savings Account, but who knows how long that will last?)

I've got more credit than I can use. What I really need right now are deposit accounts with decent rates of return. Is anyone using Alliant's savings or checking accounts? Any complaints? How long does a transfer from an ING Direct or an HSBC Direct account take? Would you hesitate to deposit $25K or more? (I see that deposits are NCUA insured, but I also notice that Alliant is a state-chartered, as opposed to Federal, credit union. Does this matter?)

Sorry if this is off-topic, but these are the best rates that I've seen in ages. TIA for any information.
