Silly me assumed that pretty much all credit cards came with price protection. I found out through Earny that my Chase Amazon does not
I'll only have Amazon Prime until the trial ends and I was wondering if those with the card found the 3 or 5% worth it. Earny recently told me that I could've gotten $20.XX back and I have $19.XX in Amazon Rewards, so I would've been better off if I had bought everything with my CFU. Is this typical? Do you typically buy everyday essentials or random stuff on Amazon? What have you found to fluctuate in price the most?
For sure Amazon is not always (or even nearly always) the lowest price on items, especially everyday items. You just have to take the time and compare. Don't assume Amazon is best just because it is convenient, because I think a lot of people fall into that habit. It's nice to get the Amazon rewards, but only if you are saving more in the long run. Don't overpay by dollars to save an extra couple percent for example.
Amazon is convenient and ships items quickly; that doesn't mean it is the best in terms of bottom line dollars. More convenient options in life usually cost more unfortunately.

Everything in life isn’t bought on Amazon. It’s a great card for when one does. Especially if a prime member. But Amazon is like anywhere else, sometimes it has the best prices and sometimes it doesn’t. I buy frequently on Amazon so for me it’s worth it. Only you can crunch the numbers and see if it is worth it for you. Unfortunately every persons spending habits and life priorities are different. So none of us can say for certain if it’s the right card for you.
Also, don't assume because it's the best price one day (for something you use and buy again) that it'll be the same price the next day. I've seen things fluctuate almost an extra 50%. That's why I'd never consider one of those Dash button things, or tell Alexa to order my ______. I want to know the price before I order.
