Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
You might need to check if there is any hard pull on your credit report. It seems like they pull from someone else's.

I applied for an Amazon Store card this week and was denied to the following reasons:
Your Credit Score: 078
Date: 08/08/2011
Scores range from a low of 000 to a high of 999.
Key factors that adversely affected your credit score:
NO RECENT REVOLVING BALANCES
LACK OF RECENT CONSUMER FINANCE COMPANY ACCOUNT INFORMATION
NUMBER OF CONSUMER FINANCE COMPANY ACCOUNTS
DEROGATORY PUBLIC RECORD OR COLLECTION FILED
NUMBER OF INQUIRIES ON CREDIT REPORT
None of this info is correct- especially my credit score being a 78.
What can I do? Please advise!
Thats really strange! I'd call to recon and explain they may have not pulled the right person.
What is on your report? Do you have any baddies on there? How many inquiries are there? When is the last time you pulled your report and who did they pull? Have you been recently searching for credit?
That is not a FICO score so you can ignore that. I would want to get to the bottom of this though if it doesn't make sense to you.

Sorry, I can't be of any help but I just wanted to chime in and let you know that I laughed out loud at the ridiculousness of Amazon thinking your score is 78. find it extremely difficult to believe elling you your credit score is 78. I don't know you or your credit history, but I doubt anyone has a score of 78.

How old are you? Have you checked your credit report to see what these possible collections are about?

Thanks for the input everyone. I don't understand the declination- I've never had a CFL, never even applied for one. I'm 27 years old, have multiple accounts all in good standing, mortgage, two cars leased, etc.
Thinking I am definitely going to give recon a shot, however, I called the other day an the csr told me they don't recon and to reapply in 30 days.
Thoughts?
