American Express -- Does anyone know about this?

I have 2 cards with Amex, 1 is business and the other is personal.

I applied for another business card on the phone. I told the rep I'm already a member and she asked my account number. To my amazement and astonishment, there was no hard pull!!

My question is, could it be there will never be another hard pull from Amex since I'm a member? If so, that is awesome and makes me want to apply for another card lol.

One more question - I heard Amex back dates history. So if I open another account, what will the open date be?

Amex does use internal history but you should expect a hard pull, unless the buis card went on the buis credit alone. Amex does back date to original relationship date, even if you were au back then. if they don't call and ask to speak with card replacement, but they are usually good about doing on their own. I know Amex has shot me down on internal history without a hard pull, something about my sig or such nonsense. lol
