Heyo,
I find this interesting, I just received an email of a promo offer from Amex about my cash magnet card. 9 Billing Cycles will have a promo of 1.99% APR, after which the APR will return to standard APR, (email says 17.74%).
The email is legit and I was able to activate it without logging it. I did check with my last statement and the standard apr is different from the one statement in the email. It makes me wonder when the statement does report again, does that mean they just lowered my standard apr 20.99% -> 17.74%
Does anyone else seem to get the offer?
Yeah it's not really all that new. They're pushing their Pay Over Time (POT) feature on Charge cards as well. I'm sure so that folks will continue to use it even after the promo period instead of PIF so they can make more even money.

Nah, I pif my small charges with Amex.im rewarded with cli button removed from account and personal loan offer check removal from website as well. My message I'm receiving is telling me they don't want to lend to me.

I got the same offer and I recently noticed that my cli button is gone too. I haven't requested a Cli from them since one year ago. I do have a fraud alert on my bureaus so that could be the reason the cli button is gone?

Well, keep an eye out on your next statement. That would be good news if they lowered your standard APR.
@ZackAttack - thanks for pointing this out - i just checked and looks like i got a reduction as well
does that mean they just lowered my standard apr 20.99% -> 17.74%
i went from 23.99 - 20.74%
this 1.99% is perfect timing - i had a $6k purchase coming up that i am putting on the Amex - now i dont have to get it paid off in 1 month - i am fine taking 3 or 4 months at 1.99
Thanks for the link. I just got my CLI!!!
