Well I applied again after 90 days, expecting a full denial. Amex didn't suprise me at all with the denial, but the reasons for denial were different than 90 days ago. Before it basically said that I had sufficient credit for my income or something to that effect. Today, I was told by CSR that I was denied for low FICO score (678), too many inquiries in last six months (6) and not enough experience with Amex. Now the first two I get. I'm thinking the third one is because I haven't run enough through the card. I've probably only run about $2,500 since I've had the card which has been since July 2013. Ironically, I was approved for the card with a 642 FICO score. I started at $2,200 and got my 1st and only 3X CLI in September 2014 to go to $6,600. I think Amex is nervous because of all the new credit I got after their cards. My utilization is practically 1-2% on any given month with no balances carried month to month. I'll try again in three months when I'll be down to 2 inquiries in 6 months. Hopefully the FICO scores comes up, but I'm not betting on that. We'll see. If they would let me combine all the revolvers into one card, I'll be happy with that and leave the CLI alone.

Looking at your signature, I'm guessing you may have hit your internal limit or you external limit or both.
Do you actually have two BCEs and a BCP and the Hilton?
You have added a lot of new TLs and with that comes increased exposure to your current lenders. The inq's and the new TLs were probably too much for them and you might be looking at 6 mos from your last TL. How many new accts in the past 6 mos?

Yes two BCE's, one BCP and one Hilton (I went a little crazy with Amex).

I've lost track, but if I had to guess I would say at least 12

$150k + isn't enough I guess?

To each their own. I'm sure it may be enough for some, but for me no. I don't judge anyone for what they want.

Perhaps, but it might be enough for AMEX. IMHO, I think two BCEs and BCP are redundant, so I'll definitely look into reallocation of those CLs.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. I have to wait for the reallocation until all cards hit one year according to Amex.

My point was I agree with the comment about looking at your signature.
My eyes opened really wide when I saw it.. and i"m not a creditor. 12 new accounts in the last 6 months? Oooooook. Good thing you weren't surprised with the denial.
