Amex AU affect on AAoA

I have read that whenever you get a new Amex card it dates back to your oldest Amex card's opening date when calculating AAoA.

My brother has had his Amex card for almost 20 years. If I am added as an AU to his account it should help my AAoA.

What will happen if I then open my own (Would be my first ever Amex card)... Would it backdate to my brother's card or does the backdating only apply to the principal card member?

Amex doesn't back date anymore. If it were Cap One, BofA, Chase or a Synchrony card. You'd get his 20 years of credit history.
