Just thought I'd share my CLI success with Amex.
Originally had a $2000 starting limit.
Recieved a CLI after 61 days to $6,000.
Recently hit 6 months and tried for $18,000--they countered with $15,000 (accepted obviously).
Very happy with this kind of growth. Would be nice to have a lower APR (22%) but I don't carry a balance anyways. If only Chase would do CLIs like this

Congrats! Did you get your 61 day activation date or approval date. One of the SCR's told me on the phone that they counted from approval date. It makes about a 2.5 week difference in my case.
Thank you. I believe I requested it from approval date--though my memory is a bit spotty.

I think effectively everyone has stated that it wasn't on approval date when they tried. It certainly doesn't make any sense not to do it on activation date (or possibly on initial statement opening date, that one's trickier) as the point of the time delay is to establish history with the card. If you wait 40 days to activate what have you demonstrated in that three week period to 61 days if it's genuinely on approval date?
It's all anecdotal reports and we could be wrong, but if you attempt it at 61 days post approval, don't be surprised if it's declined. Of course, YMMV.
congrats Amex give the best cli's can't wait to get mine.

Congrats! I recieved the CLI at 61 days as well for my current limit of $6,000. My question is when does this 6 month period start? Is it 6 months after the CLI at 61 days, approximately 241 after initial activation OR is this 6 months after activation, only approximately 120 days from the CLI at 61 days? I hope my question isn't too confusing lol. That limit is great and I really would like to ask at the right time and hope I am successful. Thanks!!!
