Actually, I haven't heard of the $250 on $500 spend for the BCP. I think you mean that there are targeted offers of $250 for 1K spend plus 10% on dining on the BCP. And according to DoC, you can get that same offer for BCE. I see an offer of $150 on $500 spend+10% dining for the BCE. Other thing to keep in mind is BCP doesn't have the annual fee waived and that makes it the same offer for new AMEX holders. Better getting the BCE and getting an upgrade offer of $150 for 1K spending down the line if one doesn't want more than one pull (and have to cancel a card at some point) due to AMEX's once a lifetime bonus.
