Amex CLI or spring for SPG?

I have two Amex cards:

Clear $4500 limit (don't use this much - just one recurring bill since the rewards are lame)

BCP $5000 limit (use this a decent amount - mostly groceries and gas)

It's been over six months since my last CLI request, so the Luv buttom is back.  I'm thinking about apping for the SPG card to start earning better travel rewards, but I'm not sure about another annual fee.  With the thought that I MAY apply for the SPG card within the next six months or so, should I try for the CLI?

Thanks for your help!

How important is the SPG signup bonus to you? If it's not a big deal, you could ask Amex to product change your Clear card to the SPG, and then also ask for a CLI on your BCP.

im not sure if this would work but move the line to the bcp and app for an spg. if you dont mind using a hard pull for another card.

or ask for the cli on the bcp and then pc the clear.

The signup bonus would be pretty nice... that plus I have heard that they won't PC the Clear to anything else.
