Amex CLI over $25,000

Hello,

I have an Amex Charge card for 4 years and a revolver for 3 years.

I started with $2000 and did the 3x and got to $6000

After a year I moved to $18,000 and last year I got to $24,900

I have a clean credit report and a FICO 8 Score of 758 and my income is $130,000

I have a $0 balance on the card

My UTI is under 9%

Based on my income what is the  CLI I could ask for ?

Is their a known max ratio between CL and Income ?

I don't mind them verifying my income with the IRS, just want to know if it even makes sense to ask for a CLI with this income

Any people with experience on this ?

No hard line on what you can ask for. $50k wouldn't be out of the question. Just request what you want. They'll most likely counter offer. My individual income is half yours and my limit is just over $32,000 currently. I've had my card 18 months. That should give you an idea. Skies the limit my friend!😀

What was your FICO 8 Score when you got that limit ?

Did they ask for Income verification ? Did you ask for more and they countered ?

Re: Amex CLI over $25,000

Score was 731 when I first got the card.

Current score in signature. I requested$40k 6 months ago and got verification. I just backed out and lowered CLI request until instant approval. The last request was instant. I didn't see a verification screen. The system just counter offer me to $32300.

So when you back out you can ask for a new number right away ?

If they ask for income verification doesn't that mean they would approve you if you can prove your income is correct?

If not what's the point of asking income verification if they already know they wouldn't approve that CLI

Re: Amex CLI over $25,000

I recently requested an increase to 50k without verification.

Go for it. What have you got to lose?

Yes, you can back right out and enter a new request or send them what they want. I agree, what's the point if they're not going to give it to you.

Did you get the $50k?  What limit were you moving up from?  What is your income and what is your typical spend pattern?  Thanks for the data points.

45k no IV. Back out and adjust if forms requested. Approval or counter is the goal. Good luck!
