Amex Charge Cards and Samsung Pay

Does anyone know if purchases made with Amex charge cards via Samsung/Google/Apple Pay are eligible for reward point multipliers? I've read conflicting statements on the issue and would love a definitive answer (if one exists).

With Samsung Pay I know they are, and I would assume the same would be the case with Google Pay and Apple Pay.

ETA:  Where things can get 'iffy' is when PayPal or Square are involved... those can be YMMV.

Re: Amex Charge Cards and Samsung Pay

With ApplePay you are still using the same steps to pay a merchant, so the same merchant code exists. The only difference is that ApplePay creates a transaction specific code to enable the charge to be processed.

As with a lot of things Merchant Code, the best thing to do is keep track on-line how AMEX codes these. It seems when you look back at your prior list of transactions, for the previous statement period, AMEX now lists whether the 4x or 2x (gas temporarily) are earned.

You get the same. If you click on Benefits and scroll down to Digital Wallets, it should have the information you need there. It says under Samsung Pay that you "experience" all benefits and rewards of your card.

Yes. At least in my experience. Square doesn't get multipliers either way. It codes rightly as restaurant but no bonus either directly or using Google pay.
