Re: Amex Delta Eliminates Foreign Transaction Fees

Cool news.  Hopefully AMEX will waive FTFs on more cards too.

Re: Amex Delta Eliminates Foreign Transaction Fees

Just checked my statement (Delta Amex Gold), and saw this notice as well. Very cool, thanks for the heads up!

Re: Amex Delta Eliminates Foreign Transaction Fees

Can anyone confirm if they see this on their platinum delta or delta reserve statement?

Sorry to be off topic, but did AMEX Delta Platinum get rid of companion passes?

It looks like they're still offering it.

However, the AF is going up to $195 as of May 1. So, if you haven't gotten it yet, apply for by April 30 to secure the $150 AF.

Hmm, DH was going to upgrade his Gold to Plat in July.  This puts a dent in that plan.

Re: Amex Delta Eliminates Foreign Transaction Fees

I'll go ahead and keep us off-topic here by asking if anyone knows if Amex allows you to PC back to a Gold after upgrading to a Platinum. I'm thinking about upgrading my Gold this year only, then dropping back to a Gold if it becomes clear that the Platinum is not worth the AF, especially with it going up to $195...

I believe that is the case, at least it would make sense since you can usually downgrade with AMEX, i.e.  Plat charge card to green, etc...
