Amex Delta Gold Recon?

I just applied for an American Express Delta Gold card and was denied. It came up saying that on July 2, my FICO was 625 which seems really low. Back then though, I was pretty much maxed out and now I have 0 credit card debt. I have never heard of them using an old report to consider me for a card. Is it possible they did not pull a report when I just applied because I currently have a Gold charge card?

Is there a phone number that I can call to see if they will reconsider?

American Express Credit Bureau Unit: 800-874-2717. Must have a current credit report before calling. They will ask for the account number from the credit report, which is different from your card number.
