What department should I contact for this CLI after activation?

No department. simply log in. go to profile. credit management. and hit the credit line increase.

It will ask you your income and assets. it will ask you what do you want the limit to be. remember. do not go more than 3 times as it will be auto denied. then see what they say. 7-10 day message or approved. if approved. then you must wait 6 months for next increase. if declined. you cannot ask again for 90 days. just that easy. only takes a couple of minutes. Good luck.

Re: Amex EDP

Go for it right after activation. Hit the CLI button and let us know! I did just that in March and was granted a CLI from $10k to $25k.

So because of my limited credit history and my overall history with Amex I was approved for the EDP with a $1k CL. A whopping $1k!!! WTH!!! What should I do since that's just too little for me to use? Should I be patient and just wait? But I would hate to wait for the 3x CLI since that would increase it to a whopping $3k! What would you guys recommend?

Why do you think it's too little? AMEX is giving you a credit card, which you can use right up to $990 then PIF to show responsible usage. The idea is to use it 30x per month to max the MR points, so, time to get swiping Smiley Happy

After usage and showing them your payment ability for several months, the CLI will arrive.

While the 61 day rule is indeed not cast in stone, it is also not guaranteed that one can get a CLI immediately. Mileage varies.

High Bal Jan 2009 $116k on $146k limits 80% Util.
Oct 2014 $46k on $127k 36% util EQ 722 TU 727 EX 727
April 2018 $18k on $344k 5% util EQ 806 TU 810 EX 812
Jan 2019 $7.6k on $360k EQ 832 TU 839 EX 831
March 2021 $33k on $312k EQ 796 TU 798 EX 801
May 2021 Paid all Installments and Mortgages, one new Mortgage EQ 761 TY 774 EX 777

Re: Amex EDP

The thing is I'm not overly concerned with the 30 swipes per month rewards, I am interested in the 15 month 0% apr. I make big purchases a lot and $1k is too little. I agree with the fact that I have to show responsible use so I guess we will see what happens

Re: Amex EDP

Here's a question for you guys. Let's say I stick with the whopping $1k CL for about 61 days (I know that the 61 day CLI isn't available anymore) would you say they will increase it more than 3x the amount or do they only increase by 3x at a time?

Re: Amex EDP

I'm just being impatient since almost all of other CC are well over $10k CL each. So I'm used to having a lot of flexibility. So when I was approved for the EDP with $1k CL. Well... Disappointing to say the least.

Re: Amex EDP

They will never go more than 3 times. Even you wait 5 years.

Re: Amex EDP

3 times as soon as allowed. Wait 6 months. Then 3 times again.

Re: Amex EDP

No problem. Bottom line. In little over a year. You can go from 1k to 25k. First increase. 61 days. 2nd increase 6 months later. And 6 months after that. You at 25k.
