What department should I contact for this CLI after activation?
No department. simply log in. go to profile. credit management. and hit the credit line increase.
It will ask you your income and assets. it will ask you what do you want the limit to be. remember. do not go more than 3 times as it will be auto denied. then see what they say. 7-10 day message or approved. if approved. then you must wait 6 months for next increase. if declined. you cannot ask again for 90 days. just that easy. only takes a couple of minutes. Good luck.
Go for it right after activation. Hit the CLI button and let us know! I did just that in March and was granted a CLI from $10k to $25k.

So because of my limited credit history and my overall history with Amex I was approved for the EDP with a $1k CL. A whopping $1k!!! WTH!!! What should I do since that's just too little for me to use? Should I be patient and just wait? But I would hate to wait for the 3x CLI since that would increase it to a whopping $3k! What would you guys recommend?
Why do you think it's too little? AMEX is giving you a credit card, which you can use right up to $990 then PIF to show responsible usage. The idea is to use it 30x per month to max the MR points, so, time to get swiping
After usage and showing them your payment ability for several months, the CLI will arrive.
While the 61 day rule is indeed not cast in stone, it is also not guaranteed that one can get a CLI immediately. Mileage varies.
