I saw this.. Not a fun day though for alot of Amex or shall I say ex Amex card holders. Don't think this has any correlation, but if anyone has done anything funny aka self-referral, etc I would avoid this like the plague as will be under the microscope of Amex RAT team IMO. I think they messed up on this offer and will be pulled sooner than later or possibly trying to lure people out? . Was a leaked link, don't think this was public/published was it other than a blogger?
Good find......too bad I'm a Marriott junky.
How does this become a free first year? The link page, first page of the app simply says AF $450 with no language of first year free.

Out of curiosity, why was it a bad AMEX day?
Amex is closing alot of peoples accounts today. On Reedit and DOC and other such sites. Not just one card, all of a person account sif they meet X criteria for the most recent crack down.

It you click on the T&C PDF it says Free for the first year. The marketing lingo makes no mention of it, so its either a error on Amex's part or a early update to the T&C.
But since its in the legal terms and conditons, I expect it to be binding if you apply through the link.

Good luck with that.
I logged into my Amex account and couldn't find the Aspire at all.
Is it only me?
