Amex Offer for Card I No Longer Have

Received this Amex Offer for BCP today. I downgraded to BCE a month ago. Why did Amex send me this offer instead of one I can actually use? Bummer!

You can always try it. I doubt it will work, or even give you +2% to 5%. But you never know. I've done an offer that I didn't think I was eligible for and it worked. 

 

Marketing is separate from billing and offers. They have their own database, which often does not talk directly with the other databases (card could be closed and the marketing database doesn't reflect it), and these types of marketing offers are pushed out.
