For all the crap everyone gives Amex they are head of class rolling this out.
The Amex triple theat cost w/ EDP, PRG & Plat is only a net of $120. Less than CSR net of $150.
840 total AF - 300 airline fee credits - 200 uber credit - 100 saks - 120 food credit = $120.
Forgot about Biz blue 0 af 2 mr better threat and AF net is $25 if replace it w/ EDP
I would rate food credit worth zero. Saks worth about 20 dollars. Uber worth 0. I tried Uber Eats but with higher cost for menu items ,up to 7 dollars in delivery fee plus tip I don't really see it as worth anything. Also 300 dollars in airline credits isnt worth 300 dollars as it goes you to one airline. So let's say 280 for that. I would rate it 300 dollars in value for 840 dollars.
I cancelled my Amerprise Platinum and PRG but my wife has both. If they gave 1cpp for all gift cards the new earning rate would be worth it.
Has anyone got the new rewards structure to show up yet, this is exciting! This card is about to put my CSP to shame and it's my favorite card right now
While I know the monthly food credits will be valuable to many, there's no value there for me.
The 4x on restaurants and grocery could be especially interesing if I could somehow justify the Schwab Platinum (I would get rid of my BCP) but I just wouldn't be able to make that work. It might be a good pair for some, though.
Two things I've read about that do have me slightly concerned is the possible removal of the airline credit (which I use to offset the AF) and the possibility of an AF increase. With the airline credit I'm able to make it work at $195, but without the airline credit and with a higher AF I'll have to take another look at things.
For the right person, though, these changes will be fantastic.
This!
I literally use everything on the card already EXCEPT the gas since the world is overpopulated with gas rewards. The fact that, as of now and from what we know, the gas is the only thing getting axed in favor of more dining rewards is perfect for me. I am guessing that the reason you have to "enroll" for it and it isn't a complete change to rewards structure is probably because you can choose to retain the original gas spend or opt out of it in favor of more dining rewards and supermarket rewards. I hope this is the case.

For me the credit it worth it.... Sometimes I want to order GrubHub but the delivery fee keeps me from doing that... For the places I order from the menu items are the same price, it's the fee you have to over come.... I planned to keep the card anyways so this just makes the annual fee muchhhh easier to stomach .... And 4x points back on groceries puts my penfed Platinum on it's toes... My Uber still beats it on dining because it's straight cash back....
Have my Penfed Platinum for gas so don't care that that was axed
For me this is beautiful
The new PRG benefits do seem to be a wee bit better than the old benefits, but they still aren't enough to make me want this card. For example, the $120 dining credit only applies to five (5) restaurants/delivery services, and it has to be spread across all twelve months of the year. I would never use this benefit. So typical of Amex. I'm still waiting for the new annual fee to be revealed. Amex is not in the habit of adding benefits to a card without also increasing the fee.

Really, four. GrubHub and Seamless are clones.
