I actually got some of the delta credit last year for something small.. I think that it was the cost of a guest into the Delta Lounge somewhere. I apparently could go in free due to the platinum, but despite us having 1st class tickets, that alone didn't include gratis entry for my companion.

i had been wondering how i'd use the credit outside of the refunding of the fees you pay when you use your delta miles to book a flight, but this is actually pretty nice!
I was delighted they picked up the cost of entry.
I refresh the perks and such a little during planning but the Delta lounge was a gift not even considered until that day. I'd even forgot that my card included my entry until the host mentioned it.
