Amex Proof of Income ???

So I got an email today from amex to check my application status.  An application I submitted a month ago for the bce, which was denied even after I faxed in documentation to request a recon, all of a sudden changed back today to in progress.  When I called the new accounts department, the lady I spoke with asked that I fax in a pay stub to the media department as proof of income.  Anyone have experience with this ???

Sounds like they are just making sure that you told the truth on your application. Did you embellish at all? If not, there may be a shiny new card in your wallet soon!

You should hear soon. You've clearly perked their interest and they want to make sure they are making the correct decision on your application. Good luck and I hope to welcome you to the AMEX family!

Re: Amex Proof of Income ???

The reason we've gone back and forth is because when I applied, they soft pulled my experian and my score there is 645 as of December. There's a couple negative accounts there I'm disputing. My equifax, which I pulled from this site the day before I applied showed a score of 723. I faxed them a copy of that a week and a half ago.

Re: Amex Proof of Income ???

Question: Why do some customers need to provide proof of income while others do not?

The only CC that ever asked me for proof of income was when I app'd for the Cap1 secured CC. Everyone else did not bat an eye

Re: Amex Proof of Income ???

I would guess that Amex will ask for Tax records if the applicant is self employed, correct?

I am a private Commercial pilot and I am hired strictly as a sub contractor and not an employee.

Just curious
