Amex add AU with 1 collection on file

Hi,

On the Amex account online I can add authorized users.

I'm trying to help my wife with her credit, she has 1 collection on file, all the rest is good, she had some late payments but that is over 3 years ago

Will it be possible to add her as AU, or Amex will decline it ?

If they approve it, will it hurt my account in some way to have an AU that had a collection in the past ?

They wont pull her credit, so won't have any of that negative info UNLESS her collection and/or lates were with AMEX, then they'll know about them..

You'll be okay as long as your AU didn't burn Amex. I was added to my wife's account as an AUU with a BK13 on file...now I have 2 Amex cards of my own.
