Crypto is a cash equivalent and will be treated as a cash advance.

Re: Amex and buying Crypto

It will be a CA with Amex, as with many prime lenders. Many have updated their terms for this very scenario.

Re: Amex and buying Crypto

Have purchased Gold/Silver with Citi-DC (~$1,800),  see it in your sig.

I would not risk using any CC for Crypto/Gold/Silver, and expect rewards.

I was unaware at time of my purchase and believe I was lucky.

It also probably depends on amount and frequency of purchases.

$200 or S20,000 might be seen much different.

Charge went thru as normal purchase and got the 2%

I wonder if a general numismatic dealer who just sells a little bullion would code differently than a specialized bullion dealer.

My purchases ware from JMBullion one of the larger places

Might just have been lucky or Citi does not care ?

Had made 3 or 4 purchases over about a year before reading about it not being smart
