I’ll be the bad influence. Go for it. Amex is great and you should get in when the getting is good lol Now to pick which card will be best for you....

The charge cards are fairly easy to get. Go for the Gold first and then anything else you go for will be a SP.

Dive in since you have wanted one. If you can justify the spend with an AF get Gold first. Then a regular revolver.

Re: Amex pre approved offers YEA or Garden

If you have 3 offers all of their cards are open for approval.

Personally I wouldn't go the charge route right off the bat since all of them have an AF.  Depends on your goals and spend though.

It used to be the norm to pick up a charge and revolver on the same day. I would just go for whatever you want the most 1st and everything else 2nd.

I suggest getting a no annual fee Amex card.

You can keep it forever and  continue building history.

Annual fee on the Gold card is hefty.
