Amex website issues?

I'm already an Amex member and am attempting to fill out an application for another card. When I get to the first step of putting in my current card's security code after clicking apply and click continue, I see the blue spinning "please wait" crap and it sits there forever. I tried different browsers and another machine. Any current members able to try this to see if it's actually down or if they just hate me? (Obviously, you don't have to go past this step if you don't want another card...)

Re: Amex website issues?

I had a hard time logging on just now.

Maybe it's payday for a lot of people, and there are too many trying to log on right now? Or I guess it's kinda late, so maybe they're doing statements for all the 2/24 crowd right now?

Re: Amex website issues?

Might be a browser issue. I had it freeze up on me too using Chrome. I think I switched to IE and it was fine.

Re: Amex website issues?

I hadn't given it much thought (I thought it was my connection having a moment lol) but over the last couple days, AMEX has been VERY slow to load whether even when I look at their site wihout logging in. And that was using IE (I use it for them, FF here, Chrome for others).

Re: Amex website issues?

No luck with IE, and it's still doing it. I let it sit on the "please wait" screen for 20 minutes before saying screw it. I don't care enough to call them but it's quite annoying.

Re: Amex website issues?

Mine did this the other day when I tried to apply for the BCE. No matter what browser, it wouldn't work.

I ended up entering my card info instead of logging into my account...it worked for me, YMMV.

I'll give that a try and see what happens, I suppose.

Yeah I just X'd out of the window, opened a new one, went to apply for it and clicked the "already existing cardmember" and instead of logging in, I entered all my Zync info on the right hand side.

Re: Amex website issues?

It worked, thanks! Declined with a 760 citing all two of my inquiries from car loans, but at least it's a soft. Ah well.

Bummer! I was declined for my BCE too, said my FICO was too low and I wasn't a member long enough.

But like you said, only a SP so oh well. No harm done.
