Andigo Cu closed my accounts , now what happens to a credit card payment initiated by the CC site?

Ok woke up to finding all my Andigo CU accounts have been closed. I had a checking , savings and a joint checking account with my husband.

They have closed all of our accounts (even my husband's) and have sent a letter of explanation with checks for the remaining balance.

There was no over draft or anything , we had over 400$ balance in our joint checking and few dollars in our individual checking/savings accounts. We have been depositing money in to this joint account and paying bills from it . Thankfully , only one CC bill was initiated in the last 2 days and seems like they closed our accounts yesterday.

Now , my real concern is , i logged into wellsfargo website and made a payment of 400$ from our joint andigo checking account on 11/13/2017 for my cashwise card. Today the payment shows as posted on wellsfargo site, but when i called Andigo they said that they closed my accounts and have sent the a check for 459$ to my address. This means they closed it after i initiated the CC payment from Credit card website but before my CC pulled the payment from my accounts. I always check my bank balance before initiating a payment from credit card site, and i did check my andigo joint account balance before initiating payment from wellsfargo site and it was all accessible and fine with 459$ in it on 13th nov.

My wellsfargo does not have any statement generated yet and i am no where near any due date or anything and yet after learning what andigo has done, i went to my Consumers CU website and pushed a payment of 608$ to my wellsfargo cashwise with rush delivery (i panicked lol) which should post today. I dont care about andigo accounts being closed , i was planning to do it anyways after a few months , and i already received my bonus of 150$. I felt they were trying get out of paying more bonus to me which was due in december.

I am kind of worried about wellsfargo credit card AA or anything like that. I am very thankful that its not Synchrony that i paid here , LOL! knowing synchrony is all trigger happy about canceled or rejected payments.

I called wellsfargo credit card services and let them know about this , they said not to worry, as long there is no missing payment after due date etc it will just be a cancelled payment. And nothing will be reported to credit bureaus or anything. But what do you guys think?

We trust these banks and make a payment and then learn that they close the accounts even before the payment is pulled. Should i be concerned about any AA from wellsfargo credit card for this? I did not miss any due date or anything . Just that bank closed my accounts before payment cleared. And i made another payment after learning this (pushed it this time from my Consumers cu as opposed to pulling it).

and the previous 400$ payment shows as posted although obviously my accounts are closed now. now how does wellsfargo update the payment that it is now unable to pull?

Ok here is a little update.

So i called wells fargo credit card services and spoke to a nice gentleman who listened and understood my situation and told me that he will make a note on my account to waive any return payment fee  charged since i updated them about the payment situation while it is still being processed. So i am happy about that. Smiley Happy

This andigo closure is another reason i strongly believe in Diversifying the banks and our financial holds in different banks as opposed to keeping it all in just one bank.

Sorry to hear about this. Any idea why they decided to close your accounts?

Another notch in my "always push payments from checking" rule -- I never "pull" payments from a creditor website when I can push a payment from my bank.  This clears the available funds out immediately, and the bank I push with (Chase) gets the payment in the next business day.

No risk of returned payment or other bizarro issues.

Very well said. Return payment fees alone should make us consider pushing payments than pulling. I guess from now i will do this. Safer option.

No idea. I was making regular transactions and paying bills thats all. Nothing large . Mostly because of inquries etc and to avoid paying me the bonus. Banks can get away with closing accounts without giving any reasons. I should be receiving a letter and check in the mail soon.

Btw they were supposed give me total of 450 bonus and they had given me the first 150 . And the rest 300 was to come in december.

Yep, I once had to pay a $35 returned payment fee to a predatory card years ago even though the payment wasn't returned or even attempted.  Took me 3 hours of arguing before I gave up, and then just pushed payments and saw how much easier it was.

My banking mobile app is beautiful for pushing payments, takes like 20 seconds and they always post the next business day, regardless of creditor I've used it with.

I'm glad to hear WF is taking care of you in this.  Smiley Happy

Food for thought... you mentioned earlier that you were intending on closing the checking account anyway, and that there was a bonus involved.  If it were me, I would only use well-established checking accounts for any payments via ACH pull.

If you need to make a payment to a card with a checking account you don't plan to keep for the long-haul, simply use it's own billpay (ACH push) and you'll never have to be concerned with this again, i.e. if there's an unexpected closure it won't impact your credit accounts.  Smiley Wink

Edited to add:  After posting I now see the other replies and I basically restated what's already been said... sorry for beating a dead horse.  dead horse.gif

Great advice UncleB!. I will surely follow that. I will push payments from my well established accounts. Btw does any one know if google wallet transactions are considered 'cash deposits'? It does code as ' point of sale ' deposit. I understand banks are concerned with frequent cash deposits, but all i have done here is google wallet transactions from my other checking accounts so everything is traceble. If banks consider google wallet transactions as cash deposits then i must be careful about using it?. All i have done is less than 3500$ total transactions in two months with 562 being the largest. And included in this are couple of ACH transactions, initial cc funding of 1500 etc. So basically google wallet transactions are less than 2000$. In different smaller amounts . Its transacting and moving money from my different checking accounts and i use wallet because its fast. If this bank freaks out about this then good riddance! Lol.
I never deposited any actual cash or anything.
This makes me believe that these guys thought of saving themselves from paying rest of my bonus so closed my accounts
