Anyone trying for some Black Friday Credit magic?

Curious, last year I only had my Walmart Discover for 2 months and called in and got a 3xCLI on it on Black Friday.  I told them I needed the extra purchasing power for Black Friday.  Is anyone else trying to strike some Black Friday Credit magic this year?  Ive been debating it but will probably not ask for any CLI's.  I really want to get one on my BCP card but my UTIL isnt where I want it so I'll wait.

Re: Anyone trying for some Black Friday Credit magic?

Not me, I just opened a Kay's Jeweler credit card yesterday at their store and got approved instantly for $8000.00 I bought my wife something but I don't think I will ever use all the credit line lol. Other than that I'm in the garden for 2 yrs.

Re: Anyone trying for some Black Friday Credit magic?

Not even gonna try it!  I wouldn't mind breaking the 60K mark soon, but meh.  I still can't even believe I have this much since it was not that long ago that I had 1/10 of this.  I thin I have added almost 50K in the last year alone.  I have decided that this year I best be thrifty, I want to buy a house soon, is the excuse I will use for not buying much for Christmas!

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

Re: Anyone trying for some Black Friday Credit magic?

I would love to request a CLI on my Citi Best Buy card so that I can have some extra spending power for BFriday.  I called yesterday but no luck, as soon as they said "We would have to pull your Cred.."  I said Nope and hung up. So just now I just bought a Sharp 50" LED 120mhz for $400 using my CSP instead.

Re: Anyone trying for some Black Friday Credit magic?

Only card I really had to request CLI on was my Kohls one...which I haven't used in about six months. They pushed me up from $800 to $2k so I won't complain...though it probably won't really make me use the card any more than I do now. I definitely used the "I need to have more purchasing power for Black Friday" line, though. Smiley Very Happy And then I just got my AMEX bumped up $4500 but that doesn't count. I'd love to recon my new Chase with that excuse, but I don't want another HP after apping for it, and I've heard they're consistent with those so. :/ Maybe next year?

Re: Anyone trying for some Black Friday Credit magic?

I'm not going to ask for any cli's but I was on amazon today and they are offering 50.00 off with the chase amazon approval. I'm feeling a bit itchy about that but I don't want to push Chase. I'm also worried about my existing credit. ....I've got 20k more credit than income so I'm not sure apping would be a good idea.

Re: Anyone trying for some Black Friday Credit magic?

I had to call SAMs about a promotional purchase that I got and it wasn't showing up online and asked for my limited to be bumped to $10,000 but they only gave me $8,000. That's a $4,000 CLI I'll take it :-)
