Moved to US on work visa last October.
01/13:
Declined 'regular car loan' from dealerships and banks (7 hard pulls on my CR)
Got VW international business professional car loan without any credit history
Got secured credit card for $1000 from local credit union
07/13:
Got declined for Apple credit by Barclays
Applied to Capital one, approved, got $500
Cap1 pulled my CR and reported score of 653
Applied to Discover IT, declined
08/29/2013 - 08/30/2013
Had ~40% utilization ($581 spread across cards)
Went on app spree. CK score was 678, Quizzle score 703
Applied for:
- Barclaycard rewards for avg credit - approved instantly $1300
- Amex - BCE - approved in 2 hours, CL $3500
- Chase Freedom Visa - denied
- Citi Simplicit - Denied (short history)
- US Bank - denied
- Wells Fargo - denied
- Chase Marriott Rewards - approved (got message in review, called this tuesday, was told it is approved already) $7000
- Discover - was in review, called recon and in 2 minutes got approval for $1000 limit
- Amazon card - approved for $400 limit
- JCrew card - in review
- Bank of america - denied (not permanent resident)
So, in 2 days got from $1500 to $14700 in available credit. Now grooming until next october.
Even though Amex, Barclay and Chase say that my cards should be in my mailbox, they are not and i'm kind of worried - a week has passed and i haven't received a single card yet.
Wow congrats!
Now, no more apps for at least 6 months.

IIRC, barclay's requires you to declare that you are a permanent resident of USA (Atleast it was a condition when I applied for my US airways card earlier this year).
Have they removed that term or is it not a condition for this particular card? Or you just said Yes even though you are NOT a PR?
My real worry as of now is that this Saturday morning i have a dentist appointment and even though i've got insurance, not sure what it will run into, so spare credit card with $7k limit wouldn't hurt.

If nothing is wrong, it should be under $100.
You can call the banks to find out when they mailed the cards.

It took about 10 days for my Chase to arrive last month.
You don't need to be a permanant resident to apply for BofA product. But you do need to go to a branch to apply instead of doing it online.
