@Anonymous wrote:Don, what did they tell you on the phone? Sometimes it is just sending items requested in. They extended me a line of 2k when I was making around 40k and fico scores in the mid 500's. I had been banking with them for around 4 years before applying though, are you a new customer? Need some extra info, thanks.
Yes, I'm a new member. I got approved for $11,000 after they reviewed my pay statements. Thanks for the post.

Not to derail, but how long does it take to get membership approval? My wife and I just applied yesterday, and after submission, we got a "pending review" message.
They will send you an email in about 2 business days. When you get your approval email, you can call to get your access number and username and password.
NFCU = Awesome.
My husband has their Platinum MC with a 4k limit. He was initially approved for 2.5k but we got a CLI before the card even showed up. required a HP though
I'm carrying their CashRewards Visa... I've already redeemed over $100 in rewards, had the card since March. They also refinanced my truck, saving me thousands by dropping the interest rate from 7.5% to 4%.
I love NFCU ![]()
When hubby's Platinum has a limit of over 5k, we may switch it to Flagship... Seems as though Flagship would be beneficial because of the no Foreign Transaction Fees.
I have to add my 2 cents here:
I would also eat ramen noodles, and vienna sausages for the rest of my life than ever fall behind on the graciousness of the NFCU institution.
Not only have they helped me re establish my credit building process, with CC's secured, but also gave us an auto loan, that both my SO and I co applied for at like 4.79 percent. Approved for a bank draft. Walked into dealership, and walked out, without all the inquiries. They pulled both of our credits Equifax.
With my SO currently on mission overseas they offered even before the 1st payment to defer, due to his orders. um WOW, WOW, WOW. I said no, I will be taking care of both while he is on orders.
In addition, I received not more than two days ago, a new debit card in mail. I was highly concerned it was just for me, and not one for him. I called and inquired, and was informed that my debit card had been ID'd to have been used at a restaurant that Fraud had occured by a server, and they automatically re issued a new debit card.
Again, UM HOLY COW BATMAN. Talk about looking after your customers.
I was initally able to start my secured card with a 500 limit, and have been able to add 1500 without a hard pull. They still did a HP when I applied for the secured card.
Just saying.....I thought USAA customer service was impeccable, but NFCU beats their awesomeness hands down.
I could tell you other stories.....but then I would just be rambling.
When you say, add to the card without a HP, do you mean by sending in more money or just adding it to your savings account?
